Flexibility is Key:

"From 1900 - 1967, the Swiss were the leading watchmakers in the world.  In 1967, when the digital technology was patented by the Swiss, they rejected it in favor of the traditional ball bearings, gears, and mainsprings they had been using to make watches for decades.

Unfortunately, however, the world was ready for this advance, and Seiko, a Japanese company, picked up the digital patent and became the leading watch manufacturer in the world almost overnight.  Fifty thousand of the 67,000 Swiss watchmakers went out of business because they refused to embrace this new technology.  It was not until years later that the Swiss caught up and regained their position in the marketplace with the creation of Swatch watches.

Give Thanks, Always:

There is so much we have to be thankful for.  Just remember, no matter how terrible you think your situation is, there is always someone else who has it worse. 

While most people focus on the negatives, get tangled up in the mean dialogues, and spend their time complaining instead of fixing problems... 

     We have life; we have liberty; we have health (to some degree, or you would be dead); we have the ability to pursue happiness; we have family and/or friends; we have better paying jobs than most countries; we have working limbs; we have the ability to practice our own faith; we have free speech; we have access to public education...the list could go on and on. 

Take a moment to be thankful.

The costs of goods and services keep rising, while inflation and debt seem to keep growing, and paychecks stay the same... all of this adds to stress and, in many cases, poor choices.
